APPROACH
I offer a body positive, functional approach to exercise, focusing on strength training, mobility and injury prevention. Before I begin to work with a new client, I assess any problems, whether their issues be congenital or those that are a result of lifestyle and overuse or injury. My understanding of the musculoskeletal and fascial systems enable me to correct movement patterns and strengthen weaknesses, fixing chronic problems and imbalances over time as well as improving posture and alignment.
I teach my clients to understand the significance of movement and how it affects the body, to achieve a kinesthetic awareness that they can apply in their lives. With mindful movement, the body functions efficiently and is less likely to become injured.
For me, working toward a healthier self goes beyond the workout. I believe in the power of food and vitamin supplementation. I have many years of experience using diet to solve a variety of health problems and am happy to share what I have learned. For those seeking a deeper understanding of their dietary needs, I refer clients to an expert in biochemical nutrition and genetics. For clients with more severe health issues, I am happy to work closely with their physicians and others on their team to create a program that integrates with whatever treatments they are receiving.
